The RASC has a wide range of committees that either deliver the Society's programs and services (Education, Publications, etc.) or help run the Society's governance model (Constitution, Nominating, etc.). Some committees are mandated in the Society's By-laws while others are temporary or special committees established to undertake a special project or to examine a specific issue.
Volunteering
Members of the RASC are encouraged to donate their time and talents to help build Canada's National Astronomy Society. Most committees can use your help to develop their programs and services. As little as 2-3 hours a month can make a difference and help you to make friends with RASC members from across the country.
To find out more, check out any of the committees on the right that are recruiting members or looking for help on specific projects, or drop a line to our National President, Mary Lou Whitehorne. She is an ex-officio member of all committees and is the common link between all of them. This ensures that their work does not overlap and that they work together on projects where appropriate.
